Today Grady and I started watching cartoons, because I thought it might get both of us to stop crying.
Anyway, the first cartoon I found was something about Ducktown. There was a penguin who hoped to become mayor of Ducktown – he wanted to contribute to the society that he loved, the society that he risked his life to become part of. (You see, Penguinland had much less to offer him and his family than Ducktown did.)
Many ducks in Ducktown hated the penguin because he was foreign, and wanted to make him go home. But one duck, the hero of the story, told all the other ducks that the penguin was a good person (and a taxpayer) and shouldn’t be run out of the town he loves. And that before the other ducks kicked him out, they should try going through what he went through to leave a sad country and migrate to a new land. And the other ducks were all, “You’re right, hero duck. Welcome to Ducktown, penguin.”
The end.
