about the author

Mel Sundquist's the name. Loitering's the game.

My only qualification to write a fashion blog is that I wear clothing daily, and I am interested in making that clothing an expression of something. I rarely shop for fresh-from-the-factory clothing, hence the “thrifting” part of the title. I probably go to a thrift store at least once a week, even if I have no money. I love to find used clothing (previously-loved clothing, if you’re interested in being politically correct) and make it my own.

I’ve been making my own clothing and accessories since I was a kid, and I’m still terrible at it. I have a website about fiber-specific d.i.y., focusing on knitting, called Stances and Stitches.

I’m a Communication/Journalism major at Utah Valley University, and I work for the newspaper there, the UVU Review.

If that’s not enough for you, find out about me here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.
